In Residence Nov 1 - 11 and Nov 20-25

About the residency:

"Voice" (a working title) is a contemporary dance work in-development. It explores a journey about transformation of voice and self expression. A solo combined with audience participation that will create the possibility to leave the audience connected, moved and inspired. An honest, raw and authentic piece that will leave not just one voice to be fully self expressed through the course of the performance but many.

The residency  helped transform my artistic practice and choreography into a new and refreshing directing."Voice" is a work that I am deeply connected to. I have been honest and authentic in my approach to this residency and believe I am now stepping into a way of creating that is truly aligning with who it is I truly am as a choreographer and dancer. I have looked at my own creative journey so far where I have struggled previously to find my own voice through my own career and personal life. This development has allowed me to figure out why that is. In the middle of the residency I flew back to Sydney to participate in the Landmark Advanced Course which looks at transforming your life to live the life you love. The pathway to finding and developing my voice through the presence of landmark has been very important to me and to see what is possible, the residency has also assisted with this. The residency allowed me to create movement and dialogue for the work that aims to move, touch and inspire and to really connect and communicate to and with the audience throughout the performance. The residency has empowered me to take the next step with this work after very encouraging and positive feedback. I would like to as the work develops now and into the future to have the piece empower people to see what is possible with their own voice and full self expression.
