A healthy does of dance is just what the doctor ordered!

Talented SA singer, songwriter and musician Heather Frahn joined Leigh Warren & Dancers to present a very special FREE public performance of Medico Manoeuvres II at Flinders Medical Centre during the Adelaide Fringe 2009.

Medico Manoeuvres II was the second instalment of a specially choreographed dance piece created by Leigh Warren & Dancers for Flinders Medical Centre’s Arts in Health program (the first series of works, Medico Manoeuvres, was presented in 2007). The Arts in Health at FMC program is the largest and most diverse arts in health program in Australia and finds creative ways of incorporating ‘the arts’ into the daily life of the hospital.

“The feedback from our patients after those first performances by Leigh Warren & Dancers in 2007 was just wonderful. We were delighted when Leigh approached us to create a new series of works for our patients in 2009 and give others in the community an opportunity to enjoy the experience as well.” FMC’s Arts Coordinator – Sally Francis.

“Each of the individual dance works was choreographed to suit the ward in which it was performed for patients – so some pieces were humorous and uplifting, while others were more soothing in their nature,”
