company members lisa griffiths Lisa studied at the Queensland University of Technology, the Centre for Performing Arts and studied sculpture at the Central School of Art, Adelaide. Her first dance project was with Darc Swan directed by Chris Jannides and in 1999 she joined Chunky Move and toured nationally and internationally with the company. In 2002 she was commissioned to create Turbo-Prop Hostess for Dance Tracks at the Sydney Opera House Studio. Lisa then joined Tasdance working with choreographers Natalie Weir, Leigh Warren, Phillip Adams, Tanja Liedtke and Sue Healey. She has performed in dance films by Amanda Phillips and Sue Healy. Lisa worked with the Sydney-based Sue Healey Company from 2003 to 2006, performing in the stage works Fine Line Terrain and Inevitable Scenarios. In 2003, Lisa was awarded a DanceWeb scholarship to attend the Impulstanz Festival in Vienna. She also represented Australia in SiWic (the Swiss International Coaching Project in Zurich) and worked with Meryl Tankard on Pearl for the Sydney Opera House. Lisa wrote the published articles Euro-dash and A Chance at Immorality for Dance Australia Magazine. In 2005 Lisa joined Leigh Warren and Dancers performing in Like No One is Watching choreographed by Antony Rizzi, Mixed Doubles by Leigh Warren and Petroglyphs by Leigh Warren in collaboration with Gina Rings. She toured the USA in Quick Brown Fox and upon returning to Adelaide, she performed in the Philip Glass operas Einstein on the Beach and Satyagraha. In 2006 Lisa was the apprentice choreographer for Special Mention by Stompin’ Youth Dance Company at the Sydney Opera House. She recently performed in Crush, a collaborative work by choreographers Amanda Phillips and Frances d’Ath at the Golden Grove Arts Centre, Adelaide. |
