In 2009 Lewis completed his three year Bachelor
of Dance Performance Degree at the Adelaide Centre for the Arts.
During this time he was fortunate to work with many choreographers
including Peter Sheedy, Jo Stone, Aidan Kane Munn, Brooke Stamp
and Leigh Warren.
Prior to his studies at Adelaide Centre for the
Arts Lewis was involved with the contemporary SA youth dance group,
Fresh Bred, performing at Come Out, Choreolab and the Horsham Australian
Youth Dance Festival. He also participated in a mentoring program
with the Australian Talented Youth Project, held in Canberra and
sponsored by Ausdance.
Lewis now regularly performs for the roving entertainment
group "Slack Taxi", incorporating stilt walking and acrobatic
skills, which has taken him to perform at events such as WOMADelaide,
the Tour Down Under, Singapore Grand Prix and the Singapore Youth
Olympics.
In 2010 Lewis performed in the premiere of Stone/Castro's
contemporary theatre work, Superheroes at the Adelaide Festival
Centre and Arts House Melbourne. Later in the year he performed
in Alison Currie's Instillation work 42a which toured Brisbane,
Sydney and Melbourne.
Lewis is excited to be working with Leigh Warren
and Dancers on their upcoming work Breathe by Francis Rings
for WOMADelaide 2011.
