Escape is a dance drama that retraces
an event of the past, the choreographers' visit to the famous Akiyoshido
cave - the largest cave in Japan and a masterpiece of natural art.
It also serves as a metaphor for the decent into the subliminal
terrain of the sub-conscious.
Contrasting action-packed movement with intense
stillness Escape features the mesmerising Japanese contemporary
dancer Kaiji Moriyama and outstanding young pianist Simon Tedeschi
performing the music of legendary composer Toru Takemitsu.

An exquisitely crafted chamber work for five
dancers, from one of the world's most revered contemporary choreographers,
Jirí Kylián.
This is a particularly poignant piece for
Leigh Warren, who in 1983 performed in the world premiere of Dream
Time while at Nederlands Dans Theater.
