depth of field
1998
Depth of Field was based on a collaboration
with the Japanese dancer Yoji Hanawa, and is a complex exploration
of changing space and the human body.
Depth of Field features live electronic
music from Adelaide composer Stuart Day and trombone player Dave
Palmer.
It includes prerecorded interviews with adults
and children about how they see their own bodies, live inter- active
video camera operation showing different views of the on-stage dancers,
and projections of beautiful fractal geometry patterns on a white
sail that flies slowly and silently around the stage on a computer
controlled flying system.
